Les Butters came on the most difficult season for most Sheep Hunters. 2006 was notably a early winter, the Chugach and the Talkeetnas both had significant snow and weather. Les and I happened to walk ourselves off the map and closer to the front range to get ourselves free of the weather. In route we found quite a few Rams and Sheep but took a 11 year old ram for his harvest. We ate Sheep Meat in the clouds while waiting for the weather to break so we could actually find a airstrip to get picked up at. Too much fun for one hunt! Self Reliance was our norm.
